For
reliability when buying a second-hand supermini, you clearly cannot
beat these major Japanese manufacturers for a car that won't let you
down. If you're on a budget, clearly an ageing Toyota Yaris is a
particularly good choice.
For new superminis, however, French (Citroën) and South Korean
(Kia) manufacturers have displaced Japanese cars from the top two
slots, indicating that Japan may be about to lose its dominance of the
supermini market in terms of reliability.
As regards popularity, the Ford Fiesta tends to dominate the supermini
market as we present in another blog post: Top 10 most popular new cars.
