But which motors proved the most popular new car buys with UK consumers? According to data released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), the top ten best-sellers of 2011 were dominated by Ford, the full top 10 listing being as follows:
Most of these cars are superminis. Indeed almost half of all new car registrations in 2011 were superminis.
