They, for example, provide the Asda car insurance policies and those of numerous other well-known brands. The Coverbox car insurance model is of particular use to young drivers as they can reduce their premiums by driving less and at safer times, 11pm to 4am being a high risk period for young drivers. Coverbox pay as you drive car insurance monitors the car-driving using a Quartix telematics unit, a small box that is inserted in the engine compartment. Safe driving is rewarded with lower premiums. As the cost of young driver car insurance has rocketed, use of telematics to reduce premiums has become more attractive to young drivers. The most popular policy here of that type is provided by the Co-op (link below). BDML Connect, the broker behind Coverbox, is a general insurance intermediary and third party administrator, originally formed in 1993, bought out by management in 1998 and sold to Capita Insurance Services in 2005. Although few motorists would know them by name, BDML Connect works with 72 of the UK’s leading high street and insurance brands.
