Female Car Insurance from the Car Insurance Supermarket
Note:
As of 21 Dec 2012, gender cannot contribute to premium calculations.
If you
want to buy women's car insurance right now, we would
recommend going to our article on women's
car insurance in our
'Buyers Guide' section that offers
the most useful advice on this.
A great play is made by some
insurance companies - that wish to attract women looking for female car
insurance at a lower price - of their women-only insurance products. In
some cases the insurance brand is targeted just at women. Don't be
fooled. It's all just marketing hype.
What matters is that you get female car insurance
at the right price
and with the right level of cover. And it matters not one little bit
whether the end-provider markets their product as female car insurance
or not.
That said, if you're spending money on marketing your product to a
specific group, it doesn't make business sense to not to try to be as
competitive as possible for that market sector; so a case can be made
for going direct to a female car insurance specialist - indeed, we used
to include them here - but don't imagine that they will
automatically be the cheapest or best policy. And, indeed, that's why
we dropped them - no-one was using them to buy their cover.
Consistent with this point, for a long time we worked with numerous
leading female car insurance brands on this site only to find
that they were much less likely than other leading brands (that were
not targeted specifically at women) to result in completed sales.
Our advice here, then, would be to side-step female car
insurance specialists to broaden your search beyond this narrow,
largely marketing-driven, focus.
Female car insurance providers do participate with our price comparison
services listed at the bottom; so using such services is a convenient
way
of quickly finding female car insurance quotes without restricting your
search arbitralily to an overly narrow group of insurers.
For those that favour going direct and cutting out a price comparison
system, many women find female car insurance to their taste at M&S
insurance. (Use our 'direct' links below to find out more about them).
Again, they are a 'general' insurance provider but with an impressive
car insurance product.
To clarify, given that you could now be slightly unclear as to how to
proceed, don't be afraid to shop around to find the best female car
insurance quotes. The UK insurance industry is one of the most
competitive in the world and this is good for consumers wishing to save
money on female car insurance but who do not wish to compromise on
cover.
Remember, there is a balance between cost and cover. The cheaper
policies may be popular but are not always a wise choice. Take steps to
find out what you are choosing. No policy should be selected blind to
the level of cover.
