Get Car Insurance at the Car Insurance Supermarket
To get car insurance in the
UK without paying too much became a lot easier with the introduction of
price comparison services to the UK insurance market in the relatively
recent past. There is now a plethora of them such that consumers might
feel they could do with a little help to choose between them. You can
find out more about our own one via the link at the top. As an
independent and well-used service, it's a good way to get car insurance
in the UK.
There is no doubt about the popularity of one-form price comparison
services. Most people these days use them to get car insurance across
the full range of car makes, ages and models as well as across
differing personal circumstances and demographics.
Can a case be made for going direct to an insurance company to get car
insurance or is a price comparison site always the best choice?
Several points need to be considered in relation to this. Those that
get car insurance through a price comparison system are mainly
motivated by price and are relatively unconcerned about the quality of
cover provided by the cheapest policy. Putting aside, for a moment,
whether or not this is sensible, clearly such individuals will like the
idea of so easily comparing perhaps 1000s of quotes in a matter of
moments with one form. As everyone likes a bargain, it should be no
suprise that to get car insurance in this way is appealing to most
people.
However, one major drawback of using these services is that you get
what you pay for. Put yourself in the shoes of a car insurance company
for a moment. In particular one that works with price comparison sites
and that aims to maximise business obtained from those that get car
insurance via such services. As price comparison sites give prominence
to the cheapest products, what are you going to do? You're going to
develop a policy that out-competes competitors across as many car
insurance groups as possible. And to achieve this what is the first
question you will ask yourself? What are we going to leave out? And
once you've answered that question, you will ask, what else? And keep
going until the numbers add up.
Would you really want this sort of policy? Probably not if you stopped
to think about it, but it is suprising how many people are unaware that
the product they select was absoultely not intended to be a quality
product, just a cheap one.
So when you use these services, do consider that going direct (for a
quality product) could be a better option or, at the very least, check
the policy details first.
