CAR INSURANCE NEWS UPDATE SERIES

Asda, Marks and Spencer and Tesco remain favourites with visitors to this site. While the number of visitors has increased, the number of sales has dropped slightly. While this may represent insignificant variation in these figures, it could reflect the current economic climate - i.e. that money is tighter and people are being more cautious in their financial dealings.

As motoring costs continue to rise way above inflation year by year, it is perhaps increasingly worth the effort to shop around for more competitive insurance rates.

Given the ever-increasing cost of fuel,  hybrid cars are now more prevalant. They convert energy that would otherwise be lost when breaking into usable electric power and can double the mileage per gallon, particlaurly in stop-start driving in town or city traffic. As a result, they have a much improved carbon footprint.

While diesel is dirtier than petrol, modern diesel cars are more effiicient at overcoming torque problems at low revs and, of course, are a much cheaper fuel option given a much better cost/mileage ratio than petrol.

We continue to suggest checking at least two from our top 3 car insurers and use our site stats to update our top three every month. We also drop insurers from our listings that have either been unpopular with visitors or our insurance partners have withdrawn third party marketing from their sales model. The latter is often due to the former reason.
