3 Jan 2009 (source: in-house) Car Insurance in 2009 How is car insurance looking in 2009? Has the credit crunch affected people's car insurance buying behaviour? Well, yes, people are selecting their car insurance differently according to our recent statistics. Although still the most popular service that we offer, our price comparison service has taken a slight hit in favour of our 'direct from insurer' services. It is possible that there is a more straight forward explanation for this, however. We have changed the wording at the top of our home page from 'Price Comparison Site' to 'Price Comparison or Direct'. Perhaps this sinple change has encouraged people to consider 'going direct' more readily. As there has been a slight shift nationally in favour of 'direct' services, perhaps these hard times make people a bit more cautious about exactly who they are doing business with when it comes to financial services. Whatever the cause, this evolving trend seems likely to continue through 2009.
