The big story this month, in news that broke just today (1 March), is the decision of the European Court of Justice (ECJ) to ban gender discrimination in car insurance.

EU bans gender discrimination in car insurance

In another blog entry, Dear ECJ, Reasons for car insurance gender discrimination, we outline the differential risk profile between young female and male drivers that points to the injustice of this ruling that, in effect, makes a mockery of legitimate actuarial risk assessment.

Pot-Hole Plethora

We have presented Britain's 10 worst regions for road surfaces in need of repair amid country-wide reports of the decreasing quality of road surfaces following repeated severe winter conditions. There is doubt as to whether the pothole repair fund pledged by the govenrment will be adequate.

Green Motoring

The Jackson Report Debate

Several influential legal academics have recently added their weight to the anti-Jackson lobby. Tesco to sell used cars online

In a surprise development that sent shockwaves through the second-hand car industry, Tesco will, from as soon as next month, be offering second-hand car sales online via a new dedicated website, TescoCars.com. Full story: Tesco to hook up with Motability to sell second-hand cars online.
