How do we know this? Well, nationally, most people use a car insurance comparison site to get their motor cover nowadays, as opposed to going direct to an insurance brand or broker. Clearly, they wouldn't do this unless they believed that they were getting the best car insurance deals by this means. It's hard to argue against the utility of a car insurance comparison system if you want to find the best car insurance deals around in view of the ease with which they can find you the lowest possible prices. You simply can't get as many car insurance quotes in any other way; so if you want the cheapest price, you are likely to find a price comparison site to be of greatest help to you. Is it right to define the best car insurance deals as the cheapest, however? Let us imagine a not uncommon scenario. Insurance Company X has a 'no frills' policy that will cost you, say, £330. Company Y will cover you for £350 but the policy features are significantly more comprehensive than those offered by Company X. It's hard to argue in this example that Company X offers the better of the two car insurance deals. And, indeed, this is an important point. It's unwise to identify the best car insurance deals on the basis of price alone. Very often, when you use a price comparison site, consistent with the above example, the quote a few entries down the list, in terms of the cost of the premium, because of what you're getting for the price, may well be the best of the car insurance deals presented. This brings us to another aspect of finding the right car insurance deals online. And that is that your choice is only as good as the information you base it on. If you rely only on limited information as presented by a price comparison site, you could come unstuck. If you don't know what you're getting for your money, you won't know whether you've identified one of the best car insurance deals or not. Importanly, you won't know what costs you may have to meet yourself in an accident. Do you know the size of your excess, for example? What help will you get for alternative transport if you're car is off the road? It's wise to know the answers to these knids of questions and if you can't find them look at the insurance company's own website. There's more to getting the top car insurance deals than most people realise or accept. car
