CAR INSURANCE NEWS UPDATE SERIES

It's all change again this month in our league tables. Tesco is back on top for the brand insurers, while Gocompare is getting the most quotes. What we call (unfairly) the 'dither' factor has risen. That is to say there is more surfing activity on the site but less completed policy sales. This is perhaps a sign of the economic slow-down at present and people's need to be careful with larger expenditures such as car insurance. We are also aware that as more and more 'me too' price comparison sites emerge, sites such as this (which provides a price comparison site service) face ever-increasing competition.

We have redesigned the homepage to make it easier to find specific insurance companies and information. The changes include a weekly updated link to our no. 1 insurance provider (as determined by the number of completed policy sales on this site). Perhaps not surprisingly, this link is the most popular.

In terms of our insurance partners, we are saying goodbye to Swiftcover this month and hello to the Alliance and Leicester. The latter is keen to increase its market share and has an attractive promotional package at present. Our early statistics suggest that it is likely to prove popular with our visitors.

On a different note, we have recently decided to sponsor a new charity website, CharityDonor.co.uk. The website provides information about leading UK charities to help those considering charitable donations. A link to it has been added to the bottom of our homepage. The site needs further support from those willing to post a link to it which hopefully will increase the profile of the site and assist vital charity work.
