Women drivers have
long been known to be lower risk drivers than men.
A not too serious look at the situation:
The 'boy racer' signified by a huge throaty exhaust that screams 'yobo'
and warns of a selfish, aggressive young thug, soon to be two microns
from your back bumper, doesn't really have a female equivalent.
The male phenomenon is basically what happens when a young man's brain
has too few neurones to dilute the effects of excessive testosterone,
so those few that are exposed to it become turbo-charged.
So it is that because women's brains are not swimming in testoserone
all day long, they have to be, and indeed are, safer drivers.
A sad irony, then, that although women are able to drive safely,
they have no idea where they are going.
Many insurance marketers have capitalised on the fact that women-only
marketing is a clever approach to attracting new business quickly. The
most successful example being Sheilas' Wheels.
Most people are aware, of course, that Sheilas' Wheels insures men too
- it would be illegal not to do so. But it doesn't stop women from
using them as they are, in fact, generally very good value for most
classes of car.
As we continue to improve services here, we have added a new women car
insurance page (link at top) which provides price comparison and
women-only car insurance choices.
